I am curious about how our ancestors understood their place within the natural world, not simply through what they made, but through their relationship with the living systems that surrounded and sustained them. Their sense of themselves as part of those systems feels very different from the relationship with nature that shapes much of contemporary Western culture.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe bee is a reminder of our profound interdependence with the living world. We rely on bees and countless other species, yet our actions can negatively affect the environments we share with them. I believe our ability to shape the world is not inherently destructive.
