Looking Into The Deep Triptych

Looking Into The Deep explores the way light bends and scatters as it passes through water or mist, that instant where clarity gives way to distortion, and what's real becomes harder to separate from what we perceive.
This triptych is a contemporary approach to mosaic, built from weathered pieces of wood that already carry the marks of wind, sun, and frost. The material was shaped by time and the seasons long before it was ever shaped by hand.
The work is ultimately about pattern recognition, one of the human mind's most powerful and most deceptive gifts. It's what lets us innovate and create and it also sometimes suggests things that are not really there. Looking Into The Deep sits inside that tension: between what's really there, and what our minds decide to let us see.
Wood mosaic. 60 x 80 x 3 in (three panels).
Made to order, up to 3 months. Shipping: freight
This piece is an original, hand-carved work based on a design I've created before, while the composition is consistent, each piece is individually made and may vary slightly in color, grain, and detail.
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth or feather duster. Avoid direct sunlight and high-humidity environments, which can cause wood to expand, contract, or fade over time. If you have questions about caring for your specific piece, feel free to reach out.
Most pieces are made to order, with a lead time of 6-8 weeks (up to 3 months for larger or more complex work). If you need a piece by a specific date, please get in touch before ordering so we can confirm timing.
Flatter wall pieces ship via UPS. Larger sculptural and freight-shipped pieces are quoted individually, contact us for a shipping quote.
Once your piece ships, you'll receive a tracking notification by email.

Care and the handmade promise
Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity, which can affect the wood over time. Each piece is finished with a protective topcoat, so no oiling, waxing, or additional treatment is needed — simply keep it clean and out of harsh conditions to preserve its natural matte finish.
Because each piece is handmade, small differences in grain, tone, and surface are natural. The variation is the signature of something made by a person, not a machine.
Each order is wrapped by hand and packed to travel safely. Made-to-order pieces typically take 6 to 8 weeks to complete, with larger or more complex pieces taking up to 3 months. You'll receive tracking as soon as it leaves the studio.
All sales on made-to-order and custom pieces are final. If your piece arrives damaged, please contact us with photos within 10 days of delivery, and we'll arrange a repair, replacement, or refund.
