Rooted Ground is a small mosaic depicting a white pine growing from the edge of a cliff, where tree and landscape meet. The work combines weathered wood and bark with glass, bringing together contrasting textures and materials to create a sense of movement.
The tree emerges from the rocky edge, suggesting the quiet resilience and persistence found in nature. Its roots hold to the landscape while its branches reach outward, reflecting the ability to find a place to grow even within challenging conditions.
Rooted Ground is a simple observation of growth, resilience, and the relationship between a living thing and the landscape that sustains it.
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth or feather duster. Avoid direct sunlight and high-humidity environments, which can cause wood to expand, contract, or fade over time. If you have questions about caring for your specific piece, feel free to reach out.
Most pieces are made to order, with a lead time of 6-8 weeks (up to 3 months for larger or more complex work). If you need a piece by a specific date, please get in touch before ordering so we can confirm timing.
Flatter wall pieces ship via UPS. Larger sculptural and freight-shipped pieces are quoted individually, contact us for a shipping quote.
Once your piece ships, you'll receive a tracking notification by email.

Care and the handmade promise
Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity, which can affect the wood over time. Each piece is finished with a protective topcoat, so no oiling, waxing, or additional treatment is needed — simply keep it clean and out of harsh conditions to preserve its natural matte finish.
Because each piece is handmade, small differences in grain, tone, and surface are natural. The variation is the signature of something made by a person, not a machine.
Each order is wrapped by hand and packed to travel safely. Made-to-order pieces typically take 6 to 8 weeks to complete, with larger or more complex pieces taking up to 3 months. You'll receive tracking as soon as it leaves the studio.
All sales on made-to-order and custom pieces are final. If your piece arrives damaged, please contact us with photos within 10 days of delivery, and we'll arrange a repair, replacement, or refund.
