In the Baraboo Hills of Wisconsin, 1.7 billion year old quartzite formations hold water patterns frozen in stone, as if waves had left their mark in the sand only yesterday. Tidal memory reveals the vast expanse of time condensed into something we can touch, something our human minds can grasp. When I place my hand on this ancient rock, I am touching an object formed when the first multicellular organisms came into existence. This is a deeply relational experience, a way of sharing common ground with ancient life across deep time. And just as this rock carries the past, it also holds the future, life yet to unfold on this shared stage.

This piece is an original, hand-carved work based on a design I've created before. While the composition is consistent, each piece is individually made and may vary slightly in color, grain, and detail.
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth or feather duster. Avoid direct sunlight and high-humidity environments, which can cause wood to expand, contract, or fade over time. If you have questions about caring for your specific piece, feel free to reach out.
Most pieces are made to order, with a lead time of 6-8 weeks (up to 3 months for larger or more complex work). If you need a piece by a specific date, please get in touch before ordering so we can confirm timing.
Flatter wall pieces ship via UPS. Larger sculptural and freight-shipped pieces are quoted individually, contact us for a shipping quote.

Care and the handmade promise
Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity, which can affect the wood over time. Each piece is finished with a protective topcoat, so no oiling, waxing, or additional treatment is needed — simply keep it clean and out of harsh conditions to preserve its natural matte finish.
Because each piece is handmade, small differences in grain, tone, and surface are natural. The variation is the signature of something made by a person, not a machine.
Each order is wrapped by hand and packed to travel safely. Made-to-order pieces typically take 6 to 8 weeks to complete, with larger or more complex pieces taking up to 3 months. You'll receive tracking as soon as it leaves the studio.
All sales on made-to-order and custom pieces are final. If your piece arrives damaged, please contact us with photos within 10 days of delivery, and we'll arrange a repair, replacement, or refund.
