These chairs were made in the spring, when the new ephemeral flowers pushing through the snow captured my imagination. I am depicting the movement of growth, how a plant bends and curves to reach the sun, an ongoing theme in my work. Each chair is assembled from three nesting forms made from stack-laminated reclaimed construction lumber and hardwood that I salvaged myself, part of my commitment to running an environmentally ethical business. I make chairs to be sat in, their curves discovered as much by the body as by the eye.

Cherry and reclaimed construction lumber. 40 x 24 x 22 in.

Made to order, please allow 6–8 weeks. This piece is an original, hand-carved work based on a design I've created before. While the composition is consistent, each piece is individually made and may vary slightly in color, grain, and detail.

Handmade at the studio

Thrown by hand, finished by fire

Every piece is wheel-thrown from stoneware and glazed by hand in our studio. This one wears our signature finish, so slight variation in tone and texture is part of it, never a flaw. No two are exactly alike.
