The View From Above

The View From Above is a meditation on the interconnected systems of life and the many forces, both visible and unseen, that move through the world around us. From a distance, individual forms become part of larger patterns, and the boundaries between one thing and another begin to dissolve.

I am drawn to the idea that our lives are woven into these larger systems, whether we recognize them or not. The stone tools embedded within the mosaic are a reminder of our own place within this pattern and of our long history as humans shaping and being shaped by the world around us.

There is also a spiritual dimension to the work, a sense that energy moves through matter and that there are forces at work beyond what we can readily see or understand. The View From Above invites a moment of stepping back, looking beyond the individual parts, and considering the larger whole of which we are a part.

Made to order, please allow 6–8 weeks. This piece is an original, hand-carved work based on a design I've created before. While the composition is consistent, each piece is individually made and may vary slightly in color, grain, and detail.

Shipping: Freight

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth or feather duster. Avoid direct sunlight and high-humidity environments, which can cause wood to expand, contract, or fade over time. If you have questions about caring for your specific piece, feel free to reach out.

Most pieces are made to order, with a lead time of 6-8 weeks (up to 3 months for larger or more complex work). If you need a piece by a specific date, please get in touch before ordering so we can confirm timing.

Flatter wall pieces ship via UPS. Larger sculptural and freight-shipped pieces are quoted individually, contact us for a shipping quote.
