Bonsai

Bonsai began with my experience of seeing an exhibition of ancient bonsai trees. I was fascinated by the relationship between the hand of the gardener and the living nature of the tree. There is a delicate balance between shaping a living thing and allowing it to remain fully itself.

The work grew from that sense of dialogue between human intention and the natural world. Bonsai invites us to look closely at the character of a tree, not simply as something to be controlled or arranged, but as a living presence with its own qualities and direction.

For me, there is something quietly profound in that relationship. It suggests that our connection to nature is not always about leaving it untouched, but about learning how to participate with care, attention, and respect.

Made to order, please allow 6–8 weeks. This piece is an original, hand-carved work based on a design I've created before. While the composition is consistent, each piece is individually made and may vary slightly in color, grain, and detail.

Shipping: UPS

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth or feather duster. Avoid direct sunlight and high-humidity environments, which can cause wood to expand, contract, or fade over time. If you have questions about caring for your specific piece, feel free to reach out.

Most pieces are made to order, with a lead time of 6-8 weeks (up to 3 months for larger or more complex work). If you need a piece by a specific date, please get in touch before ordering so we can confirm timing.

Flatter wall pieces ship via UPS. Larger sculptural and freight-shipped pieces are quoted individually, contact us for a shipping quote.
