Sundial

Sundial is a collaboration with photographer Mark Weller, whose photographic images are incorporated into the work, while the sculptural elements and design are by Aaron Laux.

I am fascinated by the way we experience time through the natural world. Before clocks and calendars, the movement of the sun gave us a way to understand the passage of hours and seasons. A sundial is both a simple instrument and a reminder that our lives remain connected to rhythms much older than ourselves.

The backlit photographs bring another dimension to this relationship between light and time. Together, the sculptural and photographic elements create a space where the passage of time feels both measured and mysterious.

Made to order, please allow 6–8 weeks. This piece is an original, hand-carved work based on a design I've created before. While the composition is consistent, each piece is individually made and may vary slightly in color, grain, and detail.

Shipping: UPS

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth or feather duster. Avoid direct sunlight and high-humidity environments, which can cause wood to expand, contract, or fade over time. If you have questions about caring for your specific piece, feel free to reach out.

Most pieces are made to order, with a lead time of 6-8 weeks (up to 3 months for larger or more complex work). If you need a piece by a specific date, please get in touch before ordering so we can confirm timing.

Flatter wall pieces ship via UPS. Larger sculptural and freight-shipped pieces are quoted individually, contact us for a shipping quote.
